Pietro Gussalli Beretta was born in Brescia, Italy on February 28, 1962, the fifteenth generation of the homonymous industrial dynasty engaged in the manufacture of small arms since 1526.

Together with his father Ugo and his brother Franco, they manage the Beretta Holding Group: the ability to combine research, technology and innovation with tradition and craftsmanship has made the Group one of the most famous Italian brands in the world.

After graduating in Economics, Pietro chose to join the family business to follow financial and management control. After few years he moved to the strategic planning and development for the entire Group and in 1996, after having re-purchased the minority share from a Belgian industrial partner, led corporate restructuring adopting a strategy of gradual internationalization aimed to ensure a direct presence of the Group in the most important markets, expanding at the same time the range of products offered. Pietro led a series of successful strategic acquisitions around the world, including Great Britain, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Turkey, Canada, United States, China, Australia, and New Zealand.

Particularly significant is the growth achieved in the sectors connected to the core business, with an offer that today ranges from optics to outdoor clothing and accessories for the commercial and military market.
The Group, led by the parent company Beretta Holding S.A., of which Pietro is President and Chief Executive Officer, is now a true global player with distributors and manufacturers in all five continents, more than 50 companies that employ about 6,000 people and a turnover of more than EUR 1.5 billion, 90% of which is made outside of Italy.

In addition to his commitment in Beretta Holding and the numerous positions held in various Beretta Group companies worldwide, Pietro Gussalli Beretta operates also outside the family business. He is member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Appointment Committee and Member of the Related Party Transactions Committee of San Lorenzo S.p.A.

Pietro Gussalli Beretta is Chairman of the Beretta Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that promotes the malignant neoplasm research and cancer therapy with a focus on breast and lung cancer and Member of the Board of the Foundation Spedali Civili Brescia.

Pietro Gussalli Beretta is also a member of the Council for Relations between Italy and the United States (CONSIUSA), a member of the international association of families of entrepreneurs with over two centuries of activity (Henokiens) and a member of the Italian Association of Family Owned Businesses (AIDAF).

Pietro Gussalli Beretta has a daughter named Maria Teresa.

His numerous work commitments led him to spend much of his time abroad, without neglecting his passions, among which are hunting, collecting modern and oriental art, the opera and especially his favorite—travelling around the world and visiting new places.
